Houston – February 19, 2014 . . . Calling all couples who are celebrating 20 years of marriage or more in 2014 who spent all – or part – of their honeymoon at The Lancaster Hotel. For the month of March 2014 the Hotel will offer these second honeymooners a one-time rate of $1 per year of their anniversary for one night (on a space available basis). The newly renovated boutique hotel is located at 701 Texas Avenue in the heart of Downtown Houston’s Theater District.
“Former honeymoon guests will need to provide a photocopy or scan of proof of their wedding date and year and a photo or token – even an anecdote — from their honeymoon stay at The Lancaster, or the Auditorium Hotel, as the case may be,” said The Lancaster General Manager Brenda Anderson. Entries should be e-mailed with the subject line “My Lancaster Second Honeymoon” to email@example.com by midnight on Friday, February 28, 2014.
For instance, those who qualify for The Lancaster Second Honeymoon celebrating their 25th anniversary who stayed at The Lancaster for their honeymoon in 1989 will receive a $25 rate for one night in March 2014 (March 1 – 31.)
“Our hotel has a long, colorful history and we look forward to reconnecting with guests and hearing their stories from years past,” said Anderson.
The historic Lancaster Hotel completed a $10-million redesign in 2013, encompassing the hotel’s lobby and all guest rooms and suites. The 94-room boutique property, which earned a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark designation in 1984, is a family-owned and operated hotel that opened as the Auditorium Hotel in 1926. It is the only hotel in Houston with continuous ownership from the original family dating back four generations.
The Lancaster was accepted into the prestigious Historic Hotels of America (representing the Jazz Age) in 2010.
